Background & Training

Klemens spent his formative years in such diverse places as his native Germany, North America, Southeast Asia and the United Kingdom, where he has been based for the majority of the past 17 years. After graduating from the University of Bedfordshire (with a BA Honours First Class in Media Performance), he went on to train in the Michael Chekhov Technique with Graham Dixon and Sarah Kane (at the Michael Chekhov Studio) and obtained a Diploma in Voice-Overs from the London Academy of Media, Film & TV. He undertook further training in acting and voice with the renowned coaches Dave Fennoy, Dian Perry, Yvonne Morley, Terence Crawford, and Stephane Cornicard. In addition, he received presenter coaching from Brian Naylor (at the TV Training Academy at Pinewood Studios), accent tuition with Sarah Shepherd, intensive training in performance capture and motion capture with The Mocap Academy and the Mocap Vaults, and he has been practising movement techniques with London's Rose Li School of Martial Arts for 4 years.

Interactive Movies / Video Games

Klemens is best known for the screen and voice role of radio host Poe in D'Avekki Studios' interactive movies / full-motion video games (FMV) The Shapeshifting Detective (2018), for which he was nominated in the Best Male Gaming Performance category at the One Voice Awards 2019 and was also nominated in the Best Character Performance category at the VOX Awards 2019, and its prequel Dark Nights with Poe and Munro (2020), for which he was also an executive producer. He has also had key voice roles (including Harry Hawker, Franz Vahlen, Brauer et al.) in Rebellion Developments' UK-chart-topping, BAFTA-nominated Sniper Elite video game series, voiced the lead roles of Hero Astronaut and Boïnihi in  Boïnihi: The K'i Codex, one of the main characters (Mobot) in the critically acclaimed J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars by CBE Software (which won Best Update at the Adventure Gamers Awards 2014), voiced the major role of Dylan Faden in the German version of Remedy Entertainment's triple-A release Control, and voiced the commentator in the German version of Nintendo's Wii Party U. He was nominated as part of the ensemble for Best Voice Work at the AGS Awards 2012, 2014 and 2016 respectively for his voice acting in indie studio Screen 7's The Cat Lady, The Apotheosis Project and Tales. His other notable game roles include the lead character in CBE Software's Ghost in the Sheet, which was one of his earliest voiceover roles (the game won the Computer Times Editors' Choice Award February 2008), and one of the leads in Catyph (which was awarded the Planete Aventure Gold PA 2016 for Best PC Adventure).In addition, Klemens has voiced trailers for such popular video games as Total War: Rome II and Travian: Legends.

TV & Online Documentaries

The extensive work Klemens has done in the historical docudrama genre includes the screen roles of Benjamin Disraeli, Richard Cobden and Major Dyneley in four episodes of the History Hub - Citizens: 800 Years in the Making series of educational online films, the episode lead role of Gottlob Bidermann (live-action and voiceovers) in Darlow Smithson Productions' TV series Nazi Megastructures: Russia's War on National Geographic Channel (for which he won in the Best Male Television Documentary Performance category at the One Voice Awards 2019), voicing the lead characters (August Gissler and Karl Mauch) in the episodes The Pirate Treasure of Cocos Island and The Real King Solomon's Mines of TV series Raiders of the Lost Past / Myth Hunters, voicing Gerhard Winnecken in the TV two-parter D-Day in HD on History Channel USA, and voicing Joseph Goebbels and other characters in 5 episodes of the TV series Rise of the Nazi Party. Moreover, Klemens was the narrator of all 8 episodes of the TV documentary advertorial series Flight for the Future (Flug für die Zukunft) about the journey of Solar Impulse, the first ever solar-powered flight around the world, on History Channel Germany.

Feature Films

Klemens has acted in a multitude of feature films, primarily in the horror/thriller genre including the roles of newscaster Joachim Baumbach in Lords of Chaos (which was released cinematically in the US and the UK in spring 2019), Herzog in Robert Reborn (which is the fifth instalment in the iconic Robert The Doll film series and reached #1 on the HMV DVD Premiere Chart in the summer of 2019), Doctor Wild in Molly Crows (which won Best Drama at the Portobello Film Festival 2013), Stewart in Somnus (which was released digitally and on DVD in the US and UK in 2016/2017) and Ranger John in Th' Dread Rattlin' (which had a digital release in 2018). Feature films in the drama genre that he has worked on include Brothers of War (in which he portrayed Egon Faber and which was released on DVD in the US/UK in 2015) and Precious Little Things (in which he played Dr Alford and which was released digitally in 2017).

Short Films / Music Videos

From the numerous short films and music videos that Klemens has performed in, the best-known productions are the war drama Dying Light (in which he played the lead character of the German Pilot and which was the opening film of the Cardiff International Film Festival 2017, where it was nominated for Best Welsh Short Film) and the music video Babyfoot Romance (in which he played the key supporting role of Tybalt and which won Best Music Video at the Limelight Film Awards 2015).

Commercials

Klemens has played lead roles in several TV commercials, including the optician/presenter in a 2018 campaign for SelectSpecs Germany and the businessman in the 2013 Aero Bubblehoppers spot (which was broadcast in the UK and Ireland). Moreover, he has voiced numerous TV and online advertising campaigns for the German-speaking markets for such major brands as Duracell, Skechers and Disney. Moreover, he is one of the regular station voices of Cartoon Network Germany.

Theatre

On stage, Klemens has played such varied roles as Paris in Romeo and Juliet at The Windsor Globe, Banquo in Macbeth at The London Theatre, Alfred Tennyson in Echoes of Dead Voices at Foyles Auditorium, Pasha Selim in the Mozart opera Die Entführung aus dem Serail at West Green House Opera, the lead character of Sigmund Freud in the dark comedy Hamlet in Session with Sigmund Freud, Colonel Stolzmann in the musical V for Victory at Stockwell Playhouse, and Sir Walter Raleigh/Prince Ludwig in Blackadder II at The Hexagon. Moreover, he has been the live presenter of events at prestigious venues including the BFI Southbank, the Royal Academy of Arts, and Standpoint Gallery.
